A note from the founders
The idea of the China Green Tour was born from a growing concern with green issues among its founders. We are simply ordinary people who, just a few years ago, had little knowledge of global warming or the state of the environnement.
Through personal experience and documentaries, we gradually realised that something had to be done, for ourselves and for others. The outcome was a pooling of skills and professional networks to organize this non-profit event.
Green issues are now a major concern, both individual and collective throughout the Western world, thanks to documentary filmakers, NGOs, media and corporate action. This sense of emergency is not always as widely shared in developing countries.
Increasing natural disasters, health problems, ‘ecolo-nomical’ migration and energy issues are evidence that we, as a species, are facing the most serious challenge of all time.
As strange as it may sound, human intelligence and talent might be seen - by their extraordinary achievements in science, knowledge, medicine or technology – as our most dangerous foe.
While our incredible development is certainly leading to hard times, however, it could also become the essential tool in avoiding a predictable catastrophe.
We believe that people are the key and that global solutions will come from the multiplication of locally adapted actions. Rajasthan is not California or France, hence it needs adapted solutions ; but it also needs hope. We all need to remind ourselves that doing something for nature – for ourselves as well as for others – is, after all, just a normal thing to do.
That is why we are inviting people from all fields from Europe, Asia, North and South America, Australia and Russia, to share their experiences in order to show that we are all interconnected, that there are numerous tailored solutions, both big and small, and that everywhere on this planet people, individuals, NGOs, companies, scientists officials or movie stars care about it enough to have imagined and implemented solutions that work.
That is reason why we invite you as a Guest, an NGO, a Company proud of its ethos of social responsibility, or simply a concerned Green Supporter, to join the China Green Tour.
